Collaboration. It doesn’t just occur outside of one’s self, but also within.
For many that sentence doesn’t make much sense; collaboration occurs when two people or groups come together to make something whole. What happens when one person brings two passions together to make one space? I call that personal collaboration.
For the last 20 years, I have been a Collaborative Entrepreneur. It isn’t a term we use on a regular basis. In fact, some may even say there is no such thing. Yet, if we dissect the phrase we may find that it describes many types of ventures.
Collaborative = Produced or conducted by two or more parties working together.
Entrepreneur = a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so.
Whether I was passionately pursuing community action activities with associates or music business activities with my husband or even working with others who share the same employer – collaborative entrepreneurship has always been at the heart of my activities.
The same is true for Janine Wright Group. Although the collaboration seen here is of my own passions. You will find two sides of my personality collaborating with each other to develop the written word and develop fabric creations.
The written word is one of the most beautiful and defining mediums we have. With the ability for one to use their own imagination, the written word can promote change in both an individualistic and collaborative environment. When done well, the reader will be compelled to mull over the meaning. Ultimately, creating a craving to have more, to know more, to search for more.
Using fabrics, threads, and my imagination I can find myself enthralled in the creation process of a garment, quilt, or object for many hours. It is not unusual to start sewing in the sunlight and then have my husband seek out my existence in the dark. Time completely stands still in my sewing room.
My collaboration would not be complete if it did not include you. If you find yourself in the need of a creative writer, please see my Contact page. For those interested in the sewing aspect of my personality …. stay tuned.
